Timeline

The Timeline provides a chronological view of your comic collection. Instead of displaying comics in a traditional list, SCADA visualizes them along a timeline based on their publication year.

This makes it easy to identify publishing periods, collection trends, and the historical development of your comics at a glance.

The Timeline

Each row represents a comic series.

Within each series, comics are positioned according to their publication year.

This allows you to quickly see:

  • When a series was published
  • Which publication years are represented in your collection
  • Which periods of comic history are most prominent in your archive

Comic Groups

When multiple comics from the same series share the same publication year, they are grouped together.

A number displayed on the cover indicates how many comics are included in that group.

Click a group to display its details in the information panel.

Details Panel

The details panel provides additional information about the selected comic group.

It displays information such as:

  • Series name
  • Publication year
  • Number of comics
  • Number of Relics
  • Number of graded comics

Below this summary, you’ll find a list of all comics within the selected group, including their titles and issue numbers.

Filters

The filters above the Timeline allow you to customize the displayed data.

Available filters include:

  • Owned – Show only comics in your collection
  • Relics – Display only comics marked as Relics
  • Variants – Show only variant editions
  • Graded – Display only graded comics

Filters can be combined to create highly focused views.

Sort Order

Use Sort Order to choose how publication years are displayed.

Available options:

  • Oldest First
  • Newest First

This allows you to explore your collection chronologically or start with the most recent releases.

Visual Insights

The Timeline is especially useful for visually exploring large collections.

For example, it helps you identify:

  • Publication periods of individual series
  • Strong and weak collecting periods
  • Series with many or few collected issues
  • The distribution of Relics, Variants, and graded comics over time

Unlike a traditional list, the Timeline reveals patterns and relationships that are much easier to recognize visually.

Summary

The Timeline offers a unique perspective on your collection by organizing comics according to their publication year. Whether you’re exploring the history of a single series or analyzing your entire collection, it provides valuable insights that are difficult to achieve with a conventional list view.
