The Data section contains all features related to backups, data import, and file management. It helps you protect your collection, transfer data between installations, and quickly access important application folders.
Automatic Backups
SCADA can automatically create backups whenever the application is closed.
Auto Backup on Exit
When enabled, SCADA automatically creates a backup each time the application is closed.
This helps ensure that your collection is regularly protected without requiring manual intervention.
Backup Folder
Choose the folder where automatic backups will be stored.
Click Choose Folder at any time to change the backup location.
Maximum Backup Versions
Specify how many automatic backups SCADA should keep.
Once the maximum number is reached, the oldest backups are automatically removed to save disk space.
Manual Backups
Click Create Backup to generate a complete backup of your SCADA data at any time.
The backup is saved as a ZIP archive and includes, among other things:
- Comic database
- Cover images
- Additional application data
Creating a manual backup is especially recommended before installing updates or making significant changes to your collection.
Restore Backup
Use Restore Backup to restore a previously created backup.
This allows you to recover your complete collection after moving to a new computer or following data loss.
Warning: Restoring a backup replaces your current data with the contents of the selected backup.
Comic Import
SCADA supports importing multiple comics from CSV files.
Import from CSV
Import comics from a prepared CSV file.
CSV import is particularly useful for:
- Large collections
- Migrating data from other applications
- Bulk importing new comics
Download Template
Download a CSV template containing all required columns for a successful import.
Use this template as the basis for preparing your own import files.
SCAPACK
SCAPACK is SCADA’s native exchange format.
It allows comics and metadata to be shared between different SCADA installations.
Import SCAPACK
Import comics or metadata from a SCAPACK file.
This provides a simple way to exchange content with other SCADA users.
Export Metadata
Export your metadata as a SCAPACK package.
This is useful for transferring publishers, series, creators, characters, story arcs, universes, and other metadata to another SCADA installation.
Folders
Open Cover Folder
Open the folder where all comic cover images are stored.
This is useful if you want to manage, verify, or back up cover images manually.
Summary
The Data section brings together everything related to protecting and transferring your collection. Whether you’re creating backups, restoring data, importing comics, or exchanging information using SCAPACK, these tools help keep your collection safe, portable, and easy to manage.
